Amy is a music teacher in Temecula, CA. She began taking piano lessons at age six and guitar lessons at age nine. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Masters Degree in Music focused in Guitar Performance from California State University, Fullerton. She taught at Riverside City College as an Associate Professor of Music and has been performing and teaching music lessons since 2005.
Amy is an award-winning author, has published arrangements and original compositions, and recorded three albums. Her Music Theory for Guitar workbook series was the winner of the Winter 2024 Pencraft Book Award.
Amy is a founding committee member of the Orange County Guitar Orchestra and served as the chair of the guitar syllabus committee during the development of the Certificate of Merit program with the Music Teacher's Association of California. With the guidance of MTAC, she helped build a complete guitar curriculum for the state, which included graded elements of technique, theory, sight reading, and performance.
Amy is also a certified yoga instructor, Craniosacral Therapist, and Alexander Technique teacher. During her Alexander Technique training, Amy interned at the Meadowmount School of Music in New York, where she had the opportunity to work with pianists, violinists, violists, and cellists from all over the world.
Amy believes in the importance of health and wellness for musicians. She has a holistic approach to teaching music and enjoys teaching aspects of Alexander Technique to her students.
